Simplified Process

Basic Requirements

Eligible projects are inverter-based facilities with power ratings of 10 kW or less that are located on radial distribution systems. Projects entered in the simplified review process must pass all three of the following review screens:

Screen 1: Is the installation on a radial distribution system?

Screen 2: Is the aggregate generating facility capacity on the circuit less than 7.5% of circuit annual peak load?

Screen 3: Does the facility use a qualified inverter (meets UL Listing 1741) with a power rating of 10 kW or less?

Screens 1 and 2 can be estimated at the time of application, but require utility review to confirm. The customer should be able to ensure that Screen 3 will be met before applying. If the project does not pass screen 1, it is sent to the simplified spot network review process. If it does not pass screen 2 or 3, it is sent to the expedited review process.
