Expedited Process
Basic Requirements
Projects that do not meet the screen 2 requirement for simplified interconnection may move directly into the supplemental review phase of the expedited process. Projects that do not meet screen 3 of the initial review are reviewed using the following screens:
4. Is the facility certified?
5. Is the starting voltage drop screen met?
6. Is the fault current contribution screen met?
7. Is the service configuration screen met?
8. Is the transient stability screen met?
All of these screens can be estimated at the time of application, particularly if all protection and certification requirements are followed. If the project fails any of these screens, it must move into the supplemental review phase of the expedited process. If it fails the supplemental review, it is sent to the standard review process.
Review Process
The expedited review and approval process, timeframes, and fees are as follows:

Additional Information
For more detail on the steps of this process, please review the uniform interconnection standards. For required forms, please visit the application and approval forms page.
Some projects over 1 MW and all projects over 5 MW must go through the ISO-NE review process which is separate from the interconnection process. It must be noted that the timeframe for the standard review pauses while these studies are completed; therefore, timeframes may be significantly different for projects going through the ISO-NE process.
