DOER Renewable Energy and
Distributed Generation Guidebook
The Massachusetts Division of Energy Resources (DOER) has produced a comprehensive guide on the permitting requirements for distributed generation and renewable energy systems. This guide describes the local, state, and federal permits required for each type of distributed generation and how to apply for them. The guide also describes the alternate qualifying facility (QF) interconnection approval process.
Please note that the section on interconnection in this guide does not reflect the current interconnection standards and is in the process of being updated.
