Windows and Classrooms: A Study of Student Performance and the Indoor Environment
This 2003 study was prepared by the Heschong-Mahone Group, Inc., for the California Energy Commission (CEC). It discusses the linkage between indoor environmental quality and student performance, as determined by test scores. Its findings are an interesting argument for green schools.

Windows and Offices: A Study of Office Worker Performance and the Indoor Environment – CEC PIER 2003
This 2003 study was also prepared by the Heschong-Mahone Group, Inc., for the CEC. It examines the influences of the indoor physical environment on office worker performance, particularly the potential contributions of windows and daylight to improved performance.

High Performance Building Delivers Results: Communicating Productivity Benefits of Sustainable Building to Decision Makers in the Seattle Development Industry
This 2000 Seattle City Light study examined 31 buildings with documented sustainable technologies and operating efficiencies. The study found reductions in absenteeism of up to 40% in some cases as a result of the high-quality indoor environments in these buildings and other productivity benefits.
