Re-Energy.ca is a renewable energy project kit that explores topics of wind energy, water energy, solar energy, biomass energy, and other technologies through a series of hands-on, project-based lessons. Students can investigate renewable energy by creating functioning models of technologies from solar cars to wind turbines. Each lesson includes background readings for students and teachers, detailed construction plans for five renewable energy models, and a lessons plan. Each lesson plan includes a brief overview, learning objectives, an overall timeframe, materials needed, and a day-to-day outline of procedures to complete the lesson. Also included are student worksheets in an open-ended project format with guiding questions and concepts, sample rubrics where applicable, and data tables for data collection.
