Description: Using a multimedia presentation, this program takes students on a simulated, interactive research voyage to predict how climate in regions around the world may change as carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere continue to rise.  Students are given background information, view information about present climates, habitats, and the ozone layer, choose a hypothesis to test, analyze data using climate models, and conclude by substantiating the hypothesis.

A teacher’s guide can be downloaded from the web site (PDF file).  This guide provides detailed instruction on using the software, managing the classroom experience, assessing student learning (including many questions, answers, and rubrics), connections to California state learning standards, and “detailed scientific background” on the subject matter.

The multimedia CD includes exceptional graphics and realistic simulation of what an actual research voyage would be like.
