Description: This curriculum contains 4 lessons surrounding the alternative energy resources with a focus on the fact that Milton is a green school. The reader is provided with fact sheets and alternative resources to complete each lesson and the steps to take to get to the final product. The higlight of these lessons appears to be the lessons that are written into the conclusions of each lesson, listed only as “additional activities.” Many of the activities include hands-on experiences as well as the real-life application of the energy resources, which have been proven more effective in teaching methods.
There is an integration of interdisciplinary lessons often useful to the early grades, with a book to read for the understanding and continuation of learning of renewable energy resources. Within each lesson, the reader is reminded that the material should be broken down into one topic per group of students in order to provide maximum support for understanding. In addition, appropriate visual aids are pointed out to be necessary throughout the development of lessons in the classroom. The fact sheets provided for the execution of the lessons appear to be of a higher level for reading.
