Description: The unit provided by this website contains seven activities recommended for understanding the greenhouse effect. Students perform a variety of tasks that include:
- learning the concept of the greenhouse effect
- analyzing data, research
- a debate of the issues involved in the greenhouse effect
- a resulting case study
In addition to investigating the scientific aspect of climate change, the debate and case study integrate the effects of climate change on a social and economic level. The complete teacher’s guide contains background information, an outline of the lessons and their objectives, and a vocabulary list.
The additional resources provided may be helpful to both teachers and students when they are conducting research. The activities create a cumulative project and are interrelated to reach a final goal beginning with the background information leading up to the debate and case study. All worksheets are included within the PDF file.
