Meeting Notice

The next meeting of the DG Collaborative will be held on September 21, 2005 in Boston at U.S. EPA's Office at 1 Congress St. (see directions below). It will be necessary to RSVP so building security will have your names; please email Rich Francis at MTC (francis@masstech.org) by COB Monday the 19th. The meeting will begin at 9:30 am sharp, so please allow time for parking, security, etc. (Coffee will be served.)

This is a Plenary Meeting, the first after the 2005 Annual Report was submitted to the DTE in May. The Agenda is attached, consistent with the Work Plan submitted to the DTE in the 2005 Report. As you will see, it is a very full agenda, including 6 particular decisions that the Collaborative will be asked to make, as well as important presentations on Navigant’s work over the summer on distribution planning and network interconnection. The latest “tracking data” (through June) will also be discussed. Please visit the September Meeting Page at the DG Collaborative website (www.masstech.org/policy/dgcollab) in advance to access the read-ahead materials, the URLs for some of which are in the attached Agenda, and all of which will be posted by the end of Wednesday 9/14 (one week in advance).

IF YOUR ORGANIZATION IS PLANNING TO PARTICIPATE IN DEVELOPING THE FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE DTE OVER THE COMING YEAR, PLEASE ATTEND THE SEPTEMBER MEETING. This Plenary will address the full range of issues that the DTE has assigned to the Collaborative, and will make key decisions that will affect most of the tasks building up to the June 2006 Final Report to the DTE. After the September Plenary, the meetings in the fall will focus exclusively on distribution planning:
November 16, 2005 (at MTC, Westborough)
October 19, 2005 (at MTC, Westborough).

Interconnection will then be front and center again for the 5 monthly meetings from January through May 2006:

January 25, 2006 DG Collaborative Plenary (Westborough)
February 15, 2006 Technical Working Group (location tbd)
March 16, 2006 Technical Working Group (location tbd)
April 26, 2006 Tariff Working Group (Westborough)
May 17, 2006 DG Collaborative Plenary (Westborough).

Teleconference dial-in will be: 888-698-9034 (Participant Code 189427#).

Web conference access will also be available.

For detailed directions, visit http://www.epa.gov/region1/directions. The EPA office is located in downtown Boston at One Congress Street. EPA's main reception is located on the 11th floor (888-372-7341), where the 9:30 meeting will be in Meeting Room 1102. The pedestrian entrance to the One Congress Street offices is located at the corner of Congress and New Chardon Streets, near the Haymarket MBTA station (serving the green and orange subway lines) and within walking distance of North Station. EPA's offices are located on the top two floors of the "Kinney System Government Center Parking Garage." (However, there is no direct access from the garage to EPA, so if you park in the garage, you will need to descend from the garage via the elevators to Floor 1, then exit the glassed in snack shop area, currently unoccupied, and walk a few yards to the office lobby entrance.)

If you have suggestions for the September 21 agenda, please contact Fran Cummings at MTC.
